The second semifinal of the Simara Gold Cup 2069 between Himalayan Sherpa Club and Sankata Club finished with Himalayan Sherpa getting the better of the two as it won the match 2-1 in a tight encounter.
The match got to a slow start as both the teams took some time to settle and launch attack in the match. The first real attack in the first half came from Himalayan Sherpa's Ganesh Khadka as he hit as superb long range shot which was brilliantly parried by Sankata's goalie. The first half of the match finished goalless.
Dhiraj Tamang opened the scoring in the match in the 56th minute of the match with another brilliant shot as Himalayan Sherpa Club took the lead in the match. Sankata Club didn't give up and their pursuit paid off in the 81st minute of the match. Ud Gurung got his name on the scoresheet as Sankata levelled the score. The normal time finished with 1 goal each as the match went to extra time. Ganesh Khadka put a brilliant header from a cross provided by Jangbu Sherpa in the 108th minute to give Himalayan Sherpa lead for the second time. Himalayan Sherpa this time held on to their lead despite having nervy final minutes as they were reduced to 10 men for few minutes in the match. Sachindra Dhimal received marching order for a second yellow card.
Himalayan Sherpa Club will now meet defending champion Manang Marsyangdi Club in the final.
