Defending champion India couldn't show a brilliant performance in their narrow 1-0 victory over arch rival Pakistan. On the other hand Pakistan showed plenty of promise to get something from the match but at the end they were left empty handed.
Pakistan was unfortunate to concede an early goal in the 14th minute of the match. Their defender Samar Ishaq was helpless in putting goal into his own net. But with the end of the first half Pakistna showed that they were no pushovers as India were left defending in their lead. The second half showed both teams trying to score but unfortunately both the teams couldn't have their names in the score-sheet.
It was Pakistan who played more than expected and in the end Pakistan coach Shaazad Anwar said that thier players having European experience allowed them to open themselves more offensively but the result wasn't as intended.
In the meanwhile India coach Koevermans reiterated that he was happy with the result but not with his team's performance.
