Iraq the most strongest team in the group and full of condifence after drubbing Turkmenistan 8-1 in their first match came here to play against Nepal to seal full 3 points. But to the delight of home supporters and dismay of Iraq team Nepal managed to steal a point from the match as they drew the match 2-2.
Iraq got an early lead in the match in the 15th minute through Husam Hasan Mahmood. But Nepal also played strongly in the half to create occassional chance on goal without much success. Iraq on the other hand also played with pressure as they failed to find the gap in Nepali defence. But with just few seconds left for the half time whistle they managed to hit Nepal in the counter. Ameer Sabah Khudhair scored a with a well taken shot to give Iraq 2-0 advantage at the break.
Home side Nepal had other idea as soon as the second half began. Skipper Bimal Gharti Magar slotted a cool finish as Nepal pulled a goal back in the 50th minute of the match. Both the teams were desperate to score more goals but failed to produce any goals until 80th minute of the match. Anjan Bista scored the equalizer in the 80th minute of the match which proved to be the final goal of the match. The match finished 2-2 draw as it was a fair result for both the sides.

In another match played earlier, Bahrain beat Turkmenistan 3-1. Mohamad Maroon scored twice in the 12th and 45th minute of the match while Sayad Shubbar scored another in the 53rd minute fo the match for Bahrain. Metdayev Akmammet scored the consolation for Turkmenistan in the 15th minute of the match.
