Women's League: Western Union Women’s league kicks off Bhadra 30

The All Nepal Football Association is organizing the Western Union Women's National League in Narayanghat, Chitwan, from Bhadra 30- Asoj 8.

A total of eight teams, including, Nepal Police, Nepal Army and Nepal Armed Police, Eastern, Central, Western, Mid-western and Far-western, will be competing in the championship.

The eight teams have been divided into two groups with four teams in each group. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. The tournament will follow the league-cum-knock-out format.

The winning team will get Rs 200,000 (2 lakh), while the runner-up will receive 100,000 (1 Lakh). There are also individual awards for best forward, best mid-fielder, best goalkeeper, best coach and best defender. The winner of each category will get Rs 25,000.

ANFA will taking care of the expenses of 18 players and two officials of each participating teams. The estimated budget for the championship is Rs. 1.9 million (19 Lakh).

This tournament will also be the base for the SAFF Championship to be held in Pakistan from November 11- 20. Coaches Kumar Katuwal, Aruna Gurung and Darshan Bhakta Lawat have been given the responsibility of selecting players for the national team.

Chitwan District Football Association is the local organizer of the tournament that will be played at Kyampachaur.

Neapl Police Club and Mid- Western will play the inaugural match at 1:30 PM on Bhadra 30. The second match between Eastern and Central is scheduled for 15:30 the same day.
