Simara Gold Cup 2069: NRT enters into quarterfinals defeating Jawalakhel Youth 1-0

529712 475303069194336 392548901 nFouth Simara Gold Cup Football Tournament kicked off from today as New Road Team defeated Jawalakhel Youth Club 1-0 in the opening match played at Simara.

A sole goal from Olaide Ibrahim in 23rd minute of the match was enough for New Road Team to enter into the quarterfinal of the tournaments. Inspite of pressing hard in the dying minute Jawalakhel Youth Club couldn't find the equalizer as thery were without its forwards Thomas Wangira Biker and Kuma Benlee.

Earlier, Shrihar SJB Rana, managing director of Rolling River Distillery Pvt, Ltd had inaugurated the tournament. Tomorrow Machhindra FC will face Nepal Army.

Simara Gold Cup 2069: Magic Moments Simara Gold Cup to kick off from Tuesday

Nava Jagriti Youth Club is all set to host the fourth Magic Moments Simara Gold Cup here at the Simara Stadium from Tuesday. 



In all, 12 teams including 10 ‘A’ Division outfits from Kathmandu are participating in the tournament. 

Defending champions Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club will play fellow ‘A’ Division outfit Three Star Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, New Road Team, Samsung Jawalakhel Youth Club, Nepal APF Club, NIBL Friends Club, NMB Machhindra Club, McDowell’s Ranipokhari Corner Team, CMG Club Sankata apart from the last edition finalists Sahara Club of Pokhara and hosts Nava Jagriti Club.



Out of the total estimated budget of Rs 5.6 million, the winners will be richer by 400,000, while the runners-up will pocket Rs 200,000. Also, the best player of the tournament will be awarded with a Laptop, while the highest scorer will receive Rs 15,000. Likewise, best individuals: goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward and coach will take home Rs 10,000 each.
