While Nepalese National Team is busy in ASEAN tour the Bangladeshi national footballers are unlikely to get any practice match against foreign teams before the SAFF Championship starts in India on December 1.

The National Team Management Committee (NTMC) was thinking of holding a tri-nation tournament involving Bangladesh and two teams from India, Nepal or Thailand in Dhaka in a bid to provide the national team a few preparation matches before their SAFF Championship campaign.

But, it appears that the NTMC plan will not materialise and the Bangladeshi national team will have to gear up for the 14-day tournament playing against local club teams and the national U-22 or U-21 teams.

"The NTMC may think of holding a tri-nation meet, but realistically, there is hardly any chance to hold such tournament in Dhaka before the Championship as it will be tough for India or Thailand to assemble their national teams following the players' commitments in domestic leagues. And on our part, it will be a big problem to accumulate a big budget for the tournament," said Bangladesh Football Federation president Kazi Salahuddin, adding that chances were slim to send the national team aboard for practice matches.

The Bangladesh national team is currently playing matches against the national U-19 side and the exclusive training schedule for them will be decided on November 20 after matches between these two sides.
