National Sports Council (NSC) and All Nepal Football Association signed a Memorandum of Understanding to transform the ANFA Technical Centre in Chyasal into an international-standard stadium.

ANFA president Ganesh Thapa and NSC Member Secretary Keshav Kumar Bista inked the deal. Minister for Youth and Sports (MoYS) Purushottam Paudel and Secretary Deependra Nath Sharma were also present at the programme. As per the understanding, ANFA would build the stadium within 15 months.

Minister Paudel said the government was committed in constructing a stadium at any cost. "The earthquake on April 25 destroyed the only stadium of the capital." Secretary of MoYS Sharma said the government was ready to spend for the stadium. "We have prepared a budget of Rs 40 million in the initial phase but we will have idea about the budget once the ANFA prepares the detailed planning," he added.

ANFA President Thapa said Lalitpur Sub-Metropolis had extended the contract of the Chyasal to 30 years. "We had only 12 years remaining of the 25 years. As per the FIFA rules, we needed the lease of at least 30 years and we have received it."
