Jhapa XI has won ANFA Cup Football Tournament beating Kathmandu-based 10 men Sankata Club 4-0.

The match played at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor, Naren Limbu, Karna Limbhu, Bikash Rai and Buddha Chemjong scored goal apiece for Jhapa XI against Sankata to lift the new season´s first title.

Sankata was reduced to 10 players after Sankata defender Suraj Thing received red card at 53rd minute of the match.

In the semifinals, Sankata had defeated departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club 1-0 while Jhapa XI, a team from Eastern Region, had beaten Nepal APF Club 2-0.

With the win, Jhapa XI has also bagged Rs 10,00000 as prize money.

Sankata Club beats Army to enter into final

Sankata Club entered the finals of the ongoing ANFA Cup by defeating Tribhuvan Army Club 1-0 on Monday.

Suman Lama of Sankata scored the lone goal for his team in 62nd minute at the match being played at Dashrath Stadium this afternoon.

Sankata will play against Jhapa Football in the tournament's finals to be held on Wednesday.

Jhapa had booked its finals berth by stunning APF Club by 2-0.

The winner of the tournament will win Rs 1 million while the runner-up will win Rs 500,000. The two semi-finalists, Army and Armed Police Force will win Rs 100,000 each.

Besides cash awards to the two finalists, there is also five individual awards to be won. Best defender, best mid-fielder, best coach, best goalkeeper, best forward will receive Rs 50,000 each, while the best player of the tournament will win a motorcycle.
