Nawayug Shrestha’s solo strike enough to propel Army into semis
The third quarter-final of the ongoing Budha Subba Gold Cup 2069 between Nepal Army Club and Manang Marsyangdi Club ended with Army winning in a tight scoreline victory. NAC won the match 1-0.
MMC started the match brightly as they went to attack straight from the moment the referee blew the whistle. But the end product always dismayed them in converting their effort into goals. Nepal Army Club took some time to settle in the match finally producing some offensive show of its own but their effort too lacked ambition and effort. Nawayug Shrestha got the best chance of the first half as he was one on one with MMC’s goalie but his effort was well read by Bishal Shrestha in the 25th minute of the match. The first half of the match finished goalless.
Unlike first half the second half of the match got to a slow start but Nepal Army Club got the chance to get its name in the score-sheet as Nawayug Shrestha capitalized his earlier mistake by scoring the first goal in the match in the 57th minute of the match. Tek Bahadur Budhathoki provided the assist for Shrestha. From there on MMC started to get on offensive gear and latched some attacking moves but were unsuccessful in their effort. NAC held on to their slender lead to book its place int he semifinal of the Budha Subba Gold Cup 2069.
