Nepal failed to win again despite playing some good football on the way against Palestine as they held the strong team to a goalless draw. Nepal again showed their inefficiency infront of goal as they lacked goal scoring poweress. Nepal had to win the match in order to progess to the final round and that too with a superior goal difference. On the other hand Palestine would qualify with a draw.
Palestine played the game with a cautious manner while putting out some wayward long range shot from vey far place. On the other hand Nepal slowly came back into the game and there was a moment when it pressed very hard but Palestine defnders held on their nerves and defied every Nepalese team effort on goal. Nepal too failed to show strong claim for goals other than moving the ball around the D box. As the referee blew the final whistle Nepal were left disappointed as they just managed to take a point from the match while Palestine were happy with a point which ensured them as group winner from group D. They now qualify for the AFC Challenge Cup 2014 which is going to be held on Maldives. Bangladesh on the other hand has to wait the outcome of other group matches in order to know their fate whether they would make it to the finals.
Palestine coach expressed his pleasure as his team qualified to the next round despite playing with some of the key stars from their side. On the other hand Nepalese coach took the tournament as a learing platform and he too is satisfied with the performance of his team. In addition to that he now knows clearly the depth of problems of the team and ensured that he will improve every department of the team.

AFC Challenge Cup Group D qualifiers: Nepal rue missed chances as they have a glimmer of hope to qualify
Nepal rues the missed chances as they lose 2-0 to Bangladesh.
In what was a impressive performance from the Nepalese side amidst the packed National Stadium, the strikers failed to convert their chances once again. Nepal started brightly with attacking intent and seemed like they would be the first to score. But, out of play, they conceded a penalty and Rony scored from the spot to give Bangladesh the lead to the dismay of irate Nepalese crowd.
After the interval the game was pretty the same, with Nepal getting it’s attacking spearhead on. But, out of luck they conceded again in the counter attack at 57th minute. Rony was the scorer again. The disillusioned Nepali team had no answer to the Bangladeshi counter attack. Nepal tried to get back on the score sheet but Bangladeshi defence seemed tough to break. A run of foul and a red card produced for the Bangladesh was a mere reflection of how hard Nepal had toiled to score.
It now is tougher for Nepal to qualify from the group even though they have same points as that of Bangladesh. But, with Palestine a even tougher opponent to face on 6th march their qualification lies on a sword’s edge.
